Happy Thanksgiving!

Greetings from the famed Domestic Diva Venora. Hee hee. I made turkey for the second time this year! I got my recipes off of some websites. Here is my turkey:

Brining was a disaster this year. On Monday night, I was putting the turkey in the Reynold's Oven Bag when it busted open because the turkey was friggin' fat! 24 pounds...so at 12:30 a.m. I attempted to put it into the second (and last) bag that came in the package...and the thing busted open again! I was frantic at this point. The turkey was sliding across the counter and I was sick of the turkey juice on my hands. I got on my coat and raced to Byerly's to find out that their oven bags were not by the turkeys! I thought they were out! So I asked an employee who helped me locate it by the other food plastic products. So I bought 4...just in case. I finally shoved the turkey into the fridge downstairs for brining at 1 a.m.

At this point, I would also like to show off my cutlery skills. Is this a real skill? I cut the cranberry sauce and presented it in my blue pan with parsley...ta da....

A picture of me and my family...enjoying the Thanksgiving festivities (I hv bad posture, I know):

Did I mention I made the stuffing from scratch this year too? My first ever stuffing and it turned out great!!

I will be back next year.

Cakes Galore

One day I'm going to be a real cake decorator. All my friends are going to ask ME to make cakes because I'll make the best ones. One day I'll be Venora the Cake Goddess. Here is my first attempt with Mai. This cake was for the Stingl's!

Happy Birthday!

Cakes are always great surprises! This particular one had a cocktail fruit cool whip center. Yellow cake...yummy...what else? Oh and we didn't take a picture but we brought 50 blue candles!
