I Have a Date with Spring

One of my favorite chinese movies/stageplays is I Have a Date with Spring. I have both the movie and the stageplay on DVD. Everytime I got to Hong Kong, I say that I want to get the soundtrack, but I never end up doing so. The soundtrack is so great...filled with these nostalgic songs from the 1960's. Of course...I didn't know the songs during that time...but many of the songs we sang on karaoke at home. My parents always liked the Hong Kong "oldies".

Recently, I discovered the best vintage Hong Kong radio station on line. It plays all these songs from the 1980s-late 1990s. I have been very out of the cantopop scene lately, so I often don't know any of the new singers. And when I do get a chance to hear their music, I just don't appreciate it. They just don't make them like they used to. This radio station is awesome because I went to Hong Kong about three times in that period, so many of the songs are so familiar to me. AND...the best part is that it tells you all the juicy cantopop star gossip in English!
